Kitty Chase privacy policy
The short version. There are no accounts. Your progress stays on your iPhone. We collect anonymous game statistics (no name, no Apple ID, no advertising identifier) to improve the game, and you can switch them off. The game is free and shows ads, and our ad partners collect some data to show and measure those ads. You can limit that at any time.
Your game progress
Your coins, Fish Bones, level, cats, cosmetics, stickers, treat chests, daily streak, missions, settings and scores are saved in a file on your device. We never receive it. If you are signed in to iCloud and leave “iCloud sync” on, a copy is also kept in your own iCloud storage so your progress follows you to your other devices. Only you can access it; we can’t. Purchases are never part of that copy.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We never see your name, Apple ID, address or payment details. The game checks Apple’s signed receipts on your device to unlock what you bought.
Advertising
The game shows rewarded ads (only when you tap to watch one) and occasional ads between runs (none if you buy Remove Ads). Ads are served through Unity LevelPlay by two ad networks, both run by Unity Technologies: ironSource Ads (including its ad-quality checks) and Unity Ads. No other ad network is in the game. To show ads, limit how often you see them, measure them and prevent fraud, they may collect:
- your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking when iOS asks; otherwise an identifier limited to this app’s publisher (IDFV), and an identifier of their own;
- which ads you saw and tapped, how you use the game (for example that a level or a purchase happened), and basic device information (model, OS version, language, screen size, connection type);
- an approximate (country-level) location derived from your IP address;
- performance and diagnostic data of their software, and anything you send if you report an ad.
If you allow tracking, they may use this data together with data from other apps to show you more relevant ads and to measure them (“tracking”). If you don’t, ads are not personalised.
They process this under Unity’s privacy policy.
Your choices
- Tracking: the game asks once, through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. Change your answer any time in iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. The game is exactly the same either way.
- Personalised ads: if you allowed tracking, you can switch personalised ads off in the game’s Settings.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: if your App Store country is in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the game never shows personalised ads and doesn’t ask for tracking; ads are requested as non-personalised, with no consent given.
- California and other US states: we don’t sell your personal information for money. Switching off personalised ads, or denying tracking, opts you out of the “sharing” of data for cross-context advertising.
- Remove Ads (an in-app purchase) switches off the ads between runs.
Game statistics
To see how the game is played and fix problems, the game sends anonymous events to our own analytics server (Aptabase, run by us at aptabase.clara.gpbulkin.com): for example that a run started or ended and how far it went, which screens were opened, whether a revive, an ad or a purchase worked (with the product bought), missions, daily rewards and outfit changes. Each event carries the app version, iOS version, device model and language, plus a random session number that is not stored on your device and changes after an hour of inactivity. It never includes your name, Apple ID, advertising identifier or any other identifier of you or your device. The server does not store IP addresses. We use these statistics only to improve the game; we don’t combine them with other data, sell them, share them or use them for advertising. Switch off Share game stats in the game’s Settings to stop them at any time; the game then also deletes any statistics it has not sent yet.
Game Center
If you use Game Center, your scores and achievements are sent to Apple under your Game Center name and shown on leaderboards. Apple’s privacy policy applies.
Children
The game is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads are requested as general-audience ads.
Keeping and deleting data
Deleting the app deletes your progress on that device. We hold no copy of it. If iCloud sync was on, a copy stays in your iCloud after you delete the app: to remove it, open Settings › Privacy Policy in the game and tap “Delete iCloud Copy” (do the same on your other devices that sync, or they upload their copy again). The anonymous statistics can’t be connected to you, so we can’t find or delete “your” events; we keep them for at most 24 months. For data collected by ad partners, use the link above, or deny tracking.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and its effective date.
